This Saturday 01/28 at MIDNIGHT DC!

Midnight has another hot lineup planned for you this Saturday. Here's
the full story...

The 28th is going to be a great evening for dancing, since three
(count 'em!) of our request-friendly resident DJs will be on hand--
Phae, London, and Liebchen. Also scheduled is guest DJ Ben Sexpot,
who'll be doing the closing set. Last year he made debuted in the
booth at Midnight, and he's made a number of equally successful guest
appearances elsewhere since. Wear some comfortable footwear, or
something dressy/stompy, because these four are going to rock the house!

Returning after far too long an absence from the vendor section is The
Silver Phoenix (
Established in '05, TSP currently now consists of several partners with
a diverse colletion of high quality wares. They've just added a new
line of perfumes and massage oils, for example; and you can also look
for some very nice Peruvian jewelry, plus the usual handmade jewelry
and purses. They may also bring out some handcarved bone flutes this
appearance or next, and one of the TSP crew does tarot readings. Nice
folks that they are, TSP accepts personal checks (with proper i.d.,
needless to say) as well as cash.

You'll also find another one of the ever-popular gothic yard sales
running, this time hosted by the always marvelously-dressed Alex (who
has been supervising our cash table of late). She'll also have some
real bargains, so come prepared to buy!

Let's start with the latter item. As most of you have doubtless heard,
The Meeting Place changed owners earlier this month, and the new ones
have been working with us to increase the available food and drink
options. You'll now find Red Bull, which many folks have requested, at
the bar; and, starting on the 28th, TMP will be offering both french
fries and chicken wings in addition to the standard burger and sandwich
menu. Hungry? Give 'em a try! (TMP serves food until 2:00 a.m.)

Dessert's on us, since we'll be slicing up free cake a little after
12:00 a.m. This week's pastry honors the b'days of Denise, Akuma, and
Eric from Richmond. (H.B. also to Jenn F., Maggie, Allen, Mary Anne,
Ivy, Samurai, Lady Kele-De, and Rob!)

Around the same time, you'll have another chance to win some free CDs.
The prizes on the 28th include discs from Mindless Faith, Assemblage
23, Behind the Scenes, and some hot compilations (Dancing Ferret's 10-
year anniversary CD, plus one that Renn Faire addicts will enjoy).
Fill out one of the drawing slips on our literature table and stick it
in the nearby cauldron to be eligible.

Early arrivals stand to benefit from the regular special offers: free
admission for Midnight's first dozen guests each Saturday, a tray of
free candy on the table nearest the Back Hall entrance, and TMP's two-
for-one drinks deal between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Show up early and help
us kick things off!

We've had some excellent turnouts so far this year, with lots of new
faces in addition to all the Midnight regulars. So come on down to
mix, mingle, shop, and party again this Saturday. Catch you then!
