you'll "roar" out your approval regarding the great lineup for our
party on the 4th. Read on to get the full story...
This Saturday is going to be a hot one for dancing. In addition to
two of our very request-friendly residents, Phae and London, we've
booked a longtime Midnight favorite, Vikki Wilson, as the guest DJ.
Vikki used to spin for us as a resident as well (2003-2005), and her
sets always pack the floor. She's DJed at clubs and major gothic
events all over the country, and is currently a resident for Doom
Gloom, the weekly Tuesday party in Norfolk, VA
(www.myspace.com/doomgloom). Don't miss this far too rare appearance
by one of the scene's best!
Over in the vending section you'll find our old friend Slyx Fashions
(http://slyx.com), which sells some excellent quality and very
reasonably priced latex wear in gothic, fetish, and contemporary
styles. In addition to its off-the-rack selection, Slyx offers
custom-made clothing that's top notch. On most of his visits he also
brings along one of the line of vac beds that are another of his
specialties; and watching the demos of those is always a trip!
Be sure to fill out one of the drawing slips (they're on our
literature table and should be placed in the nearby cauldron when
completed) before 12:00. The March 4 prizes include some neat CDs--
new releases from Covenant and The Last Dance, plus discs from the
Sisters of Mercy (performing live at the 9:30 Club on March 7!),
Endanger, and DJ Ferret. In addition, Phae (to whom thanks!) should
have another pair of tickets for the March 14 Nine Inch Nails concert
in Richmond. One entry per person, please, and don't get so busy
dancing that you forget to participate!
Around the same time that we pick the winners, we'll have free cake
available over on the tables near the Back Hall entrance. This week
we're bidding farewell (temporarily only, we hope!) to a favorite
Midnight regular, Enigma, who's leaving shortly to attend college in
New Hampshire. Please be sure to wish her the best of luck. (H.B.
also to Tracy this week!)
Of course the other regular freebies and discounts we always
advertise are again in effect. Show up early, and if you're one of
our first dozen guests of the week you'll pay no cover. Earlybirds
also get a crack at the tray of free candy we provide, and can
partake of the bartenders' two-for-one drinks sale between 9:00 and
10:00 p.m. Hungry? Check with a bartender, too, for a copy of the
new menu--which includes some tasty chicken wings, fries, burgers,
and sandwiches (available between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. and not
free, alas, but a good deal!).
It's going to be a great night for sure to come down to Midnight, and
we'll look forward to seeing you there. Oh, and don't forget that on
March 11 we'll have a live performance by Baltimore synthpop stars
Red This Ever at the club!
